Dunon Synergy Projects successfully completed the rehabilitation and furnishing of the ICT Centre at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), located in the Ituku-Ozalla LGA of Enugu State. This project delivered a state-of-the-art, fully networked, and sustainably powered facility, a critical step in modernizing the hospital’s service delivery. 

The Challenge

Like many public institutions in Nigeria, UNTH faced significant infrastructural, financial, human, and administrative barriers to establishing a functional, modern ICT Centre. The primary challenge was the comprehensive strategy required to simultaneously address infrastructure, equipment, reliable power supply, connectivity, capacity building, and ongoing management to ensure long-term success.The Synergy Solution: ICT InfrastructureOur comprehensive strategy focused on a full-scale build-out of the ICT Infrastructure.   • Commissioning: The newly rehabilitated ICT Centre was officially commissioned in February 2025.
  • State-of-the-Art Facility: The Centre has a 100-computer capacity and is designed to host e-learning, e-conferences, and ICT-based tests, setting a new standard for medical education.
  • Comprehensive Connectivity: Completed the networking of all hospital service areas with robust Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN), including ubiquitous Wi-Fi access for staff communication and research.
  • Digital Hospital Management: Successfully deployed and provided operational support for a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), automating services, patient records, and personnel management.
  • Enhanced Outcomes: The application of ICT has resulted in a significant positive effect on service delivery and an increase in revenue generation due to enhanced operational efficiency and transparency.
  • Capacity Building: Conducted intensive training programs for staff, equipping them with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the new systems.
